Drive units: the previous-generation STEPS E8000 e-MTB, E7000 trekking and E6100 city drive units.

The E8000 family is the STEPS generation before EP8. Its batteries (BT-E8010, BT-E8014, BT-E8020) also run on the EP8 drives, so packs are largely shared across E8000, E7000, E6100, EP8, EP801 and EP600, except where a battery needs a specific reinforced mount.

It charges through the Higo / Julet charge and signal connector using the Shimano EC-E8004 / EC-E6002 charger.
