Drive units: Shimano STEPS EP8 (DU-EP800), the updated EP801 and the mid-level EP600 e-MTB and trekking drive units.

The EP8 family (EP8/EP801/EP600) is Shimano's current e-MTB and trekking drive. The trap is the two 630 Wh batteries: the BT-E8036 is for this generation while the BT-EN806 is a look-alike with a different port. Read the printed model number, do not go by shape.

It charges through the Higo / Julet charge and signal connector using the Shimano EC-E8004 / EC-E6002 charger.
